Kalisz City Holiday Celebrations 11th-15th June 2008
We received an invitation from the President of Kalisz inviting us to attend the city holiday celebrations and international business forum. Mike Dignan also took the opportunity to visit the hospital at Psary outside Kalisz which he spent two years helping to built over 32 years ago when he was working for the Voluntary Overseas Service. The Almelo-Preston Twinning Diamond Jubilee
The Twinning Diamond Jubilee‚ which took almost 15 months to organise‚ has been and gone‚
- and was to most of us a pleasing success. I think our Dutch friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We have had a visit from Nīmes - Dimitri Descy, a lecturer with a group of 7 catering students
came to Preston for a period of 3 weeks to gain work experience in a different country‚
language and surroundings.

Visit to Nimes Feria de Vendanges 12th to 16th September 2007
This was a private visit made by members of the PTP to Nimes at the time of the festival. The visit was also a time of looking up old friends and promoting further participation in twinning events. Kalisz fact finding visit June 2007
To help celebrate the 750th birthday of modern Kalisz and as a fact finding visit, a party from Preston including the Mayor, Councillor Mrs Christine Abram and others went to Kalisz from the 14th to 18th of June 2007.
